Sandra Kaye Deever

Sandra Kaye Deever, 76, of Wakarusa, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2025.

She was born December 25, 1948, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Santford and Reva (Warren) Purcell. She graduated from Shawnee Heights High School in 1966. She attended Washburn University.

Sandra was employed with Dr. Edmonds and Wood Orthodontics for many years, until retiring.

Mrs. Deever was a member of the Auburn Presbyterian Church where she played the organ and piano. She enjoyed playing in her Bunko group.

Sandra married Steven Earl Deever on November 23, 1968 in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include sons, Drew (Kim) Deever, and Marc (Lynn) Deever; grandchildren, Chase & Kenady Deever, and Tate & Tallie Deever; sister, Susan Bell and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Sandra loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She always enjoyed playing the organ at church, going out to her Bunko group every 1st of the month, bowling with her league, reading all kinds of books and lately becoming stronger in her faith, and enjoyed traveling to Hawaii with her husband.

Sandra’s wishes were to be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 12, 2025 at Auburn Community Center, 121 W 11th St, Auburn, KS 66402. Inurnment will follow at Auburn Cemetery.
