Sandra L White

Sandra L. White, devoted wife, and cherished member of her community, passed away on December 11, 2025, in Topeka, Kansas, at the age of 83. Born on July 29, 1942, in Denver, Colorado, Sandra's journey through life was marked by her unwavering dedication to both her family and her career.

Sandra's professional path began as a Registered Nurse, a role in which she exhibited compassion and care for her patients. She later transitioned to a new calling as a Librarian, ultimately retiring as an Elementary Library Media Specialist. Throughout her career, Sandra was passionate about encouraging children to embrace the joy of reading. Her unique method of instilling a love for literature included by bringing in their beloved dog, Cody, a trusted support dog who became a comforting presence at the school.

Education was important to Sandra, and she pursued it with determination. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1978, followed by her Master of Science in 1989. Her commitment to learning and growth was a testament to her independent spirit and deep appreciation for all who contributed to her journey.

A member of the First Presbyterian Church of Topeka, Sandra found community and strength within the congregation. Her love for Golden Retrievers and hummingbirds brought joy and beauty to her life; she found pleasure in feeding hummingbirds and enjoyed the companionship of her dogs.

Sandra leaves behind her son, David White, who carries her legacy forward. She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Dr. Rev. George Reed White, her son Mark White, and her brother Richard Fenske, parents, Theodore and Hazel Fenske.

As we remember Sandra, we embrace the values she instilled in those around her—appreciation for education, a love for reading, and a deep gratitude for the support and kindness of others. Her independent spirit and warm heart will be truly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
