Shawn M. Burns

Shawn M. Burns, 40, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2025.

He was born February 16, 1985, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Connie (Burns) Vega. He graduated from Topeka High School 2005. After graduation, he furthered his education at WTI and earned his Technical Certificate in Heating and Air.

Shawn owned and operated Top City Heating & Cooling for more than six years.

He proudly coached his daughter, Connie, through many seasons of wrestling and was her biggest fan. He gave back to the Topeka Community through sponsoring the Girl's Wrestling Programs at area high schools. He was an avid racing fan, including NASCAR and dirt track racing. He sponsored the Rigsby family in dirt track racing.

He leaves behind his wife, Jessica McGrew; his children, Connie Sue Burns and Draven Mitchell Bennett; his siblings and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Connie Sue (Burns) Vega and his brother, Luis M Vega.
