Sherry O. Derby

Sherry O. Derby, 79, of Oskaloosa, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026. She was born November 22, 1946 in Topeka, the daughter of Harold D. and Esther E. (Morand) Harrison.

Sherry graduated from Topeka High School. She was employed by the Kansas Mutual Insurance Company.

Sherry married Farris W. Derby. They later divorced.

Survivors include children, Regina Derby of Ozawkie, Wayne Derby of El Dorado, Kansas, five grandchildren, Thomas (Megan), Jessie (Paige), Justyn, Fredrick and Sonya, two great-grandchildren, Alex and Kennedi, and her son-in-law, Gilbert A. Burnett, Jr.

Sherry was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Kelly Burnett on June 24, 2022.

A private Celebration of Sherry's Life will be held at a later date. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.

Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. is assisting the family with service arrangements.
