Stanley Lewis Nicholas, 64, of Topeka, passed away Friday, May 15, 2026.

He was born May 10, 1962, in St. Joseph, Missouri, the son of Truman and Beverly (Strawn) Nicholas.

He attended Seaman High School and graduated from Gardner high school in Lawrence, Kansas.

Stanley loved working on cars as an auto mechanic, worked for the City of Topeka, Parks and Recreation and the street department, landscaping with his own lawn business, and ran a Cafe at Jackson Street Eatery, and various jobs in different industries including typically working with his hands. Mr. Nicholas was a member of the Northland Christian church.

Stanley married Sandra Moses November 9, 1981 in Topeka, Kansas and from this union he welcomed three daughters Melissa, Amanda and Angela. The couple would later divorce and he welcomed his daughter Elizabeth.

He is survived by his daughters, Melissa Nicholas and Elizabeth Nicholas both of Topeka; grandchildren, Damien of Cleveland, Tennessee, Emma (Isaac) of Topeka, Ezekiel of Topeka, Madison and Evan of Missouri; parents, Truman and Beverly Nicholas of Topeka; siblings, Evelyn, Becky, Tom, William and good friend Tara Nicholas.

He was preceded in death by his daughters Amanda and Angela Nicholas.

Stanley enjoyed playing piano and trumpet and he took piano and trumpet lessons at Washburn of Topeka. He loved to sing karaoke, fish, bonfires, BBQ, and loved and enjoyed time with his family and friends very much.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m. on May 29, 2026, at Mount Hope Chapel, 4700 SW 17th St., Topeka, Kansas 66604. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Mount Hope Cemetery.
