Stephen M. "Steve" McMillan

Stephen M. "Steve” McMillan, 22, of Carbondale, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025. He was born February 28, 2003 in Topeka, the son of Misty McMillan.

Stephen graduated from Free State High School in Lawrence. He was a heavy equipment operator. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed doing these things with his friends. Stephen also enjoyed slow-pitch softball. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited.

Survivors include his mother, Misty L. (Terry) Shumate of Tecumseh, his maternal grandparents, Mary and Edward McMillan of Carbondale, his uncle, Cotis McMillan of Carbondale, and his great-aunt, Linda McMillan of Carbondale.

Private services were held and burial took place in Shawnee Center Cemetery, Wakarusa, Kansas.
