Steve Snoe, 76, of Tecumseh, KS went to meet his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday May 9, 2025. He had been at home on hospice care for a couple of months.
He was born March 30, 1949 to Steve and Edith (Gillespie) Snoe in Topeka, Kansas. He was the eldest of seven children.
He attended Highland Park High School where he was very close to graduating. He and a close friend were in a car accident, leaving him badly injured, so the school administrator rejected his graduation status.
His passion and life’s work was autobody work; fixing wrecked vehicles and building new, novel ones. For all his works he received many awards and trophies, helping others to receive them as well. He worked at Topeka Body Works for many years. He opened his own shop in the Oakland area, Kaw Body Shop.
Later he worked at different businesses as a body man, painter, estimator, and manager. In those years he fixed and rebuilt other vehicles. He received a title as honorary fireman and honorary member of Sacred Heart for the works he did for them.
He is survived by his wife Janet (Thomas-Edmonds), of the home. Brothers Leon (Diane), Topeka and Daniel, Abilene. Sisters Linda Bruggeman, Topeka, and Kathy Price, Topeka. Daughter Laura Ann “Lori” Freeman, Topeka. Stepson Daniel (Audrey) Edmonds, Wamego, as well as nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Steve and Edith Snoe, son Rick Dewayne and his brother, Michael Snoe.
A Celebration of Steve's Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.
