Terrance Allan “Terry” Poe, 71, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026 at a Topeka hospital. He was born December 16, 1954 in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, the son of Kenneth Hopkinson and Eleanore Mastrangelo and adopted father, Lenley Poe.

Terry attended Highland Park High School in Topeka and Carl Albert High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He served in the US Army from 1972 and later was discharged from the Kansas Army National Guard in 1995. He later went to work for the Dillon’s Food Store in north Topeka, before retiring due to his health.

Terry was a member of the American Legion and the West Side Baptist Church. He was a motorcycle enthusiast. He enjoyed old cars, country music, football, fishing, boating and skiing.

Terry married Rebecca J. “Becky” Snepp on November 26, 1977 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include children, David (Sarah) Poe of Springtown, Texas, Sam Poe of Springtown, Texas, Chris Poe of Topeka, fourteen grandchildren, Hunter, Sage, Britney, Jeremiah, Nathen, Kurstin, Aaron, Kenzlei, Addison, Asia, Bailey, David, Nevaeh and Bella, two great-grandchildren, Asher and Nova, his siblings, Rene’, Glen, Mark, Andy and his step-mother, Verna Partti.

Terry was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Hope, and his brother, Curtis and an infant sister.

A Celebration of Terry’s Life will be announced as soon as possible. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the West Side Baptist Church, 1008 SW Fourth St., Topeka, Kansas 66606.

Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 SE Minnesota Ave. is assisting the family with service arrangements.
