Theodore R. Mlynek, Sr., 68, of Topeka, passed away on September 21, 2012. He was born on December 1, 1943, in Topeka.
Ted was the son of Ernest and Frances (Sender) Mlynek. He graduated from Seaman High in 1962 where he played football for four years. He was an electrician and a member of I.B.E.W. Local #226 for 47 years.
Ted hunted, fished and played an active role in anything his son was doing: Boy Scouts, sports or working on cars. He liked working in the yard and making things grow. Golf became a favorite pastime and he loved spending time on the course with his golf buddies.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judie; son, Ted, Jr. (Christy); grandson, Christopher (Jennifer); granddaughter, Brooke; great-granddaughter, Gabriela; brothers, James (Linda); David (Nola); sister, Madonna Powers; and many nieces and nephews whom he loved. Predeceased are his parents; brother, Paul and sisters, Esther Shepardson and Drusilla Mlynek-Dawson.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, Topeka, at 2 p.m., Friday, September 28. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church or Midland Hospice.
