Travis Dale Grist, 49, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, June 12th, 2022 in El Reno, Oklahoma.
He was born September 24, 1972, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Cecil and Shirley (Grubb) Grist.
Travis was employed by Grist Demolition from 1990 to 2012. He was recently employed by U.S. Xpress Trucking Company.
Travis married Karla Newell. They later divorced. He is survived by his son Lane (Erinn) Grist of Topeka, daughter Jess Grist of Topeka; granddaughter Maddyn of Topeka; his mother Shirley; his fiancée Darcy Ferris; and brothers James (Rose) Grist, Danny Grist, Tommy (Joannie) Grist and Marty (Lia) Grist. He was preceded in death by his father Cecil Grist in 2012.
Travis enjoyed racing, riding quads and side-by-sides, truck driving, Texas-style Mexican food and spending time with family and friends.
A funeral ceremony will be held on Tuesday, June 21st at 10:00 AM at Dove Cremations and Funerals Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road in Topeka. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 20th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Dove Cremations and Funerals Southwest Chapel. In lieu of flowers and plants, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5375 SW 7th Street, Topeka, KS 66606.
