Vana Lou Norman, 84, of Topeka, passed away Monday, June 9, 2025.
She was born October 4, 1940, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Louis and Velma. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Emporia State University. She also obtained her teaching certification and worked in a catholic school.
Vana was employed by the Southwestern Bell for 25 years, until retiring.
Vana married Dwight Norman on December 15, 1956 in Wamego. They were married for a wonderful 66 years. He preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her parents and son, Steven Norman.
Survivors include daughters, Mikel Fairbank (Bruce), Penny Hearn (Ed); granddaughters, Melanie Magathan, Melinda Tekansik (Mat), Diana Wray (Bruce), and Sara Norman; great grandchildren, Ben, Hunter, Jackson, Brodyn, Cedar, Zorabelle, Victoria, Theodore, Zoey, and Athena.
Vana loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, ice skating, gymnastics (acrobatics), Disney movies, dining out, and theatre.
A graveside service will be 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Mount Hope Cemetery, 4700 SW 17th St, Topeka, KS 66604.
