William "Bill" Lucien Martin

William Lucien “Bill” Martin, 87 passed away peacefully on June 7, 2025, at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas. Bill was born June 25, 1937, to Lucien Martin and Eula Mae (Hawkins) Martin.

In February 1957, Bill married Shirley Bergeson, and together they raised four children: Rick, Cindy, Cathy and Candy. Later, Bill married Judy Chenoweth on November 23, 1988, and added two more children to his family: Derrik and Lacie.

Bill enjoyed many of life’s great joys — cheering on his favorite sports teams, golfing, visiting casinos, meeting friends for coffee, and, most of all, spending time with his family. His warm smile and quick laugh were a constant source of happiness to those around him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenny Martin; daughter, Cindy Moulin; and grandson, Tanner Watson.

Survivors include his wife, Judy of Topeka; children Rick and Michelle Martin of Osage City; Cathy and Hal Richardson of Topeka; Candy and Scott Williamson of Leavenworth; Derrik and Cora Carnell of Wellsville; Lacie and Brandon Worcester of Hoyt; son-in-law Gary Moulin of Osage City; brother Charlie Martin of Osage City; sister Marcia Huffman of Osage City; grandchildren Dylan, David, Jake, Annie, Stevie, Sam, Levi, Olivia, Lance, Logan, Whitney, Allie, Maddox, Hunter, and Braylee; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Bill worked for many years in the family business, Martin Material, until it was sold in 1983. He then served as Superintendent at the Osage City Country Club, where he worked until his retirement.

Bill’s joyful spirit, love of laughter, and the countless memories made with family and friends will be lovingly remembered.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the Osage City Senior Center, 604 Market St, Osage City, Kansas 66523.
