William Scott McAdoo, fondly known as Scott, was born on July 31, 1960, in El Dorado, Kansas. He passed away peacefully on June 20, 2025, in Topeka, Kansas, leaving behind a legacy marked by dedication, care, and a passion for both his work and family.

Scott enjoyed a commendable career, spending 34 years with Kansas DOT, where he was recognized for his problem solving and leading others. His inquisitive nature and ability to think outside the box helped him tackle challenges effectively. After his time with Kansas DOT, he drove for FedEx for 11 years as well as O'Reilly's on 17th and Kansas Avenue throughout the years. Scott was proud of his technical abilities and often used his problem-solving skills to assist those around him.

Scott attended Highland Park High School in Topeka and later pursued auto mechanics at Kaw Area Vocational School. His mechanical inclinations began in childhood, where he would dismantle and reassemble his toys. This trait grew into a lifelong passion for motorcycles, which he began riding and working on at the age of 15.

Scott's hobbies reflected his adventurous spirit. He was involved in Cowboy Action Shooting, with the OZ Hog Chapter, he enjoyed riding his Harley on the picturesque roads of Kansas and into Arkansas, and held a particular fondness for Mopar muscle cars like his 1972 Satellite. Additionally, he served as a Hunter Safety Instructor and treasured the time spent hunting with family and friends. His beloved hunting dogs and family miniature schnauzer were also a significant aspect of his life, bringing joy and companionship.

Scott was known for his few but significant words; when he spoke, he meant what he said. He shared stories with friends and family that brought laughter and smiles. His caring nature was evident in the way he cherished his family, always putting them first.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Frances Mae McAdoo, with whom he shared 46 wonderful years of marriage. Scott is also survived by his son, John William (Tracia West) McAdoo; sister, Leanne(Larry) Mangan; brother, Gary McAdoo; granddaughter, Tegan McAdoo; grandson, Vonley McAdoo; and many nieces and nephews who will all miss him dearly.

Scott was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Anne McAdoo, and father, William Clair McAdoo. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him, and his legacy of care and commitment will continue to inspire.
