Wilma Harding Carrick, 94, of Topeka, passed away Friday, February 3, 2023.
She was born November 18, 1928, in Tyro, Kansas, the daughter of Howard R. and Mary Quade (Boid) Harding. She graduated from Coffeyville High School in 1946 and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Washburn University.
Wilma was employed by Aldersgate Village as a program director.
Wilma was a member of the United Methodist Church of Berryton.
Wilma married Neil Carrick on June 12, 1949 in Coffeyville. He preceded her in death in 1993. Survivors include her children, Susan E. Kitchkommie of Topeka; grandson Bobby Kitchkommie of Topeka; and her siblings Raymond Harding of Oklahoma City, Mildred Nichols of Coffeyville, and Ellen Harris of Denver, CO. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and her son William in 2021.
Wilma enjoyed arts and crafts – painting, wood carving and making stained glass.
A funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 10th at 1:00 PM at Berryton United Methodist Church, 7010 SE Berryton Road in Berryton. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka. The family will receive friends from noon to 1:00 PM on February 10th at the Berryton United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606.
