Dave Charles “Chuck”Bailey, Jr. 77, of Tecumseh, Kansas passed away June 13, 2016. He was born January 16, 1939 at Ft. Scott, Kansas to Dave Charles Bailey, Sr. and Alice Given Flickinger Bailey. He was raised in Topeka and attended Highland Park High School. Dave married Jeannette Marie Lockhorn on September 9, 1961 at Topeka.
He served in the US Air Force. Chuck was a welder and a member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 441 Union. He was a welding instructor for apprentice school. His hobbies included fishing hunting, gardening and caring for his dogs.
He is survived by his son Sean (Kim) Bailey of Shawnee, Kansas; his daughter Tanya Bailey of Topeka; six grandchildren: Logan C. Williams, Tatum M. Williams, Hunter C. Bailey, Noah Wade Bailey and Jacob Charles Bailey; his step-mother Margie Bailey; five siblings: Donald (Roberta) Bailey of Burlingame, KS, Alene “AJ” Jensen (Gary) of Topeka, Jack Hockett of Topeka, Jill (Vaughn) Clements of Eugene, OR and Joy (Jim) Hockett Lindgren of Topeka.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, his wife on April 20, 2015, his son Michael Wade Bailey in 2011 and his sister Mary Jo Campbell.
Private inurnment will be at a later date. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on June 25, 2016 at 5341 SE Hwy 40, Tecumseh, Kansas.
