Frances R. Reese, 96, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2018.

She was born January 11, 1922 in Floral, Kansas, the daughter of Solomon andCatherine Ethel (Cochran) Horton. She was a graduate of Winfield High School, Winfield, Kansas.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Winfield, Kansas.

Frances married Marlin L. Reese on July 10, 1943 in El Paso, Texas. He survives. Other survivors include a son, Larry (Vickie) Reese, Topeka; a daughter, Marilyn Greeve, Topeka; four grandchildren, Angenette (John) Cross, Timothy Chambers, Brendon (Amy) Reese and Amy Flowers; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Lawrence, Donald and Harold Horton; and a sister, Margaret Thomas.

Frances enjoyed sewing, quilting, bowling, playing cards, gardening, fishing and traveling.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Gardens, Topeka.

The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
