Harold R. Sweet, 72, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. He was born November 30, 1946 in Admire, Kansas, the son of Raymond A. and Mabel I. (Kincaid) Sweet.

Harold graduated from Northern Heights High School in Allen, Kansas. He was an Army Veteran during the Vietnam War. He served his country 23 years before retiring in 1986. He later worked for Hills Pet Nutrition for 20 years before retiring in 2006.

Harold married Martha J. Manning on July 12, 1968 in Miami, Oklahoma. She survives. Other survivors include four children; Joseph Scheaffer of Arizona, Michael Scheaffer of California, Michelle Sweet of Topeka and Paul Sweet of Georgia, three grandsons, three great-grandsons and one brother; Gary Sweet of Emporia, Kansas.

Harold was preceded in death by two sisters; Irene Gunner and Linda Edmonds.

Cremation has taken place and as per Harold’s wishes, no memorial services are planned. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.

Dove Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd. is assisting the family.
