Loriene A. Strole, 89, of Lawrence, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She was born January 29, 1930 in El Dorado, Kansas, the daughter of Louis Augustin and Ada Marie (Cunningham) Draut.
Loriene was employed by Woolworth, Wright Chiropractic, Jones Store and a grocery store in Rogers, Arkansas prior to moving back to Topeka. She and her husband were members of the Moose Club.
Loriene married Edward Gartner. They divorced. She later married Ray C. Strole. He preceded her in death in 1987. She was also preceded in death by her two sisters, Dorothy Hite and Loretta Thomas and her nephew, Pharies “Butch” Hite.
Survivors include three nieces, Jennifer Thomas of Lawrence, Deborah Rumans of Tucson, Arizona, Kathy Richardson of Lindsborg, Kansas, her brother-in-law, Gerald Thomas of Topeka, six great-nieces and nephews and four great-great nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. Private inurnment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery in Topeka at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, Kansas 66606.
