Robin Richard Swogger, 77, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2019.

He was born December 5, 1941, in Canton, Ohio, the son of Charles Raymond and Gladys V. (Snyder) Swogger.

He graduated from McKinley High School, Canton, Ohio and attended Grace College, Winona Lake, IN and Bakersfield Community College, Bakersfield, CA. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman from 1960 until being honorable discharged in 1963.

Robin was employed by Santa Fe Railroad for 37 years, retiring in 2002.

He attended Fellowship Bible Church, Topeka and was a member of Boulevard Billiards Seniors Pool League.

He was a Boy Scout Master and established Boy Scout Troup No. 341, later changing to Troup No.123 in Yosemite Lakes, California. He also coached his children’s baseball and softball teams.

Robin married Karen L. Hurley on June 12, 1965 in Bakersfield, California.

Robin is survived by his wife, Karen L. Swogger; two sons, Adam J. (Sandy) Swogger, Woodland, CA and Craig Swogger, Los Angeles, CA; one daughter, Sara (Nicholas) Marsh, Topeka; four grandchildren, Raven, Rowan, Juliet and Paige; and one sister, Connie (Jack) Persons, Pleasant City, OH.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Charles Swogger.

Robin enjoyed spending time with family, photography, running, motorcycle riding, playing pool, traveling, furniture refinishing, macramé, canoeing, bicycling and college football, especially Ohio State.

Honoring Robin’s request, cremation is planned. A memorial ceremony will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at the Dove Cremations and Funerals, Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka. Private family entombment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka.
