Christopher B. “Chris” Katzer, 50, Topeka, passed away Friday, November 15, 2019 due to natural causes.

Chris was born August 24, 1969 in Kansas City, MO, the son of Ronald and Judy (McCoy) Katzer. He spent his early years in Kansas City before moving to Auburn and graduated from Washburn Rural High School in 1988.

He enjoyed playing soccer, music, swimming, the outdoors, and was an avid animal lover.

Survivors include his father, Dr. Ron Katzer, Carbondale; daughters, Britney Hines and Ashley Fletcher; half-brother, Dr. Clint Katzer; and half-sister, Dr. Cara Katzer.

Cremation has taken place and a Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 24, 2019 at the Dove Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Road. A reception will follow the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Breakthrough House. Breakthrough House supported Chris throughout his life, especially in helping him maintain his independence during his final years.
