Alta Faye (Cawood) Lee, 83, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2021.

She was born October 12, 1937, in Centerton, Arkansas, the daughter of Guy and Viva (Holland) Cawood.

Alta attended Centerton High School in Arkansas and later went on to receive a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Baker University.

She was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone for approximately 40 years, retiring in 2000.

Alta was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, First United Methodist Church of Topeka and Volunteered at Stormont Vail Heart Center.

Survivors include her son, Robert (Diana) Lee of Topeka; her grandchildren, Erica (Mike) McCartney, Tommi (Toya) Lee, Jacque (Nathan) Lee and Alaina Lee; her great grandchildren, Jordan McCartney, Abby McCartney, Michael McCartney, Andre Shirley, Caydence Lee, Shaina Shirley and Madison Lee; her great great-grandchildren, Addyson English, Cainyn English and Sadie Wilson and her sister, Jane (Glen) Truitt. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert A. Lee; her son, Jerry A. Lee, Sr.; her grandchild, Jerry A. Lee, Jr; four brothers and three sisters.

Alta was an avid sports fan cheering on the Royals, Chiefs and Jayhawks. She enjoyed traveling and weekly lunches with her friends.

A Funeral ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the Dove Cremations and Funerals – Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd., Topeka, KS 66610.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 5, 2021 at the Dove Cremations and Funerals – Southwest Chapel.

Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, KS 66606.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 2502 Cherry St, Kansas City, MO 64108.
