Wayne Louis “Onucko” Eagle, 64, of Topeka, passed away on June 4, 2021 at Stormont Vail Hospital.

He was born on November 12, 1956 to John Cecil and Belle Mae (Wabenum) Eagle in Holton, Kansas.

He attended Holton High School and later went on to receive an Associate Degree in Social Work from Washburn University.

Wayne was self-employed and worked as a cab driver. He previously worked for Capital City and Yellow Cab.

Wayne married Lynn Linden on November 9, 1995 and they both raised their children in Montour, Iowa on the Meskwaki Settlement prior to moving to Topeka. Wayne and Lynn were married 24 years before divorcing in September 2019.

Wayne is survived by his loving children, Christina Eagle and Jeremy Eagle both of Topeka, David Eagle of Manhattan, Justin Eagle, Regina Eagle and Amy Eagle all of Topeka; his siblings, Joy (Byron) Bricker, John Eagle, Janelle Humphrey and Cheryl (Joe) Munday all of Topeka and his mother, Belle Eagle of Topeka. He was preceded in death by his father, John Eagle; his sister, Rosanne Craft and two brothers, Ronald Eagle and Darrel Eagle.

Wayne enjoyed playing softball. After 31 years of playing softball he joined an over 60 league where he was a pitcher. He liked working on cars and was a handyman. He loved traveling with his family and children, working on computers as well as his CB Radio. His amateur radio license handle was “KC0IUP”.

Honoring Wayne’s request, cremation is planned. The family will conduct services at a later date.
