Barbara L. “Bobbie” (Hersh) Thrasher, 95, of Topeka passed away September 5, 2021.

She was born January 8, 1926 in Olathe, Kansas to Clifford M. and Florence (Scovill) Hersh. She graduated from Olathe High School in 1944.

Bobbie married Earl L. Thrasher on March 29, 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri. The family moved to Topeka in 1951. They owned the Topper Drive In for a number of years. She worked for the Kansas Dept. of Human Resources from 1973 until she retired in 1990. She later worked as office manager at Joy 88 Radio Station.

Bobbie was preceded in death by mother and stepfather, Florence and Gene Vohs; her husband, Earl Thrasher; her son, Bradley Thrasher; her son-in-law, Kenny Chapman and her sister, Charlotte Crane.

Bobbie is survived by her two daughters, Cindy (Ron) Noble and Connie Chapman; five grandchildren, Travis Noble (Stacey), Todd Noble (Turay), Dustin Chapman (Crystal), Erin Whitehead (Alan) and Kyle Chapman (Savannah); eleven great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.

Honoring Bobbie’s request, cremation is planned. The family will conduct a private graveside service.

Dove Cremations and Funerals – Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker Rd., Topeka, KS 66610 is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Topeka Rescue Mission, P.O. Box 8350, Topeka, KS 66608.
