Kevin W. Caughron, 59, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2023.

He was born March 5, 1963, in Holton, Kansas, the son of Jerome R. Caughron and Connie (Leap) Chatham. He graduated from Holton High School in 1981.

Kevin worked at Goodyear for 18 years and retired from Goodyear.

Kevin married his soul mate, Kristy Freed on August 5, 2011 in Hoyt, Kansas. She survives, along with their children, Megan Carstensen (Steve) of McKinney, Texas, Hunter Caughron of Kansas City, James Charity III and Tea Charity of Topeka, Ciara Harper of Springfield, MO, his mothers Connie Chatham (Holton) and Jean Caughron (Topeka), his sister Kim McMahon (Paul) of Overland Park, two nieces and two great nieces. He was preceded in death by his fathers, Jerome Caughron and Richard Chatham.

Kevin was a huge family man and loved his wife and children. He was the rock and always made sure everyone was taken care of and was always thinking of others. Kevin had the best laugh! He enjoyed working on their ranch with Kristy taking care of his dogs, horses, ducks, and many other animals. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports, politics, Harley Davidson and history.

Kevin was cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, January 9th, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 404 Juniper Dr, Holton, Kansas. In memory of Kevin, feel free to wear your favorite hoodie and/or ball cap. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Topeka.
